It was Dussera holidays for our kids, and so we planned to visit one of the mission fields, so we decided on Burgur Hills.
We gave a call to our missionary, Ramesh Naik, to check if he was available during the days 1st, 2nd and 3rd Oct 2015, he said yes, and all the initial arrangements were made, for our stay.
We started on 1st Oct 2015, at 7:20 AM from Shenoy nagar, and picked my sister Hannah on the
way at Vanagaram, it was heavy traffic in the morning, we had a breakfast at around 9 AM.
It was a long trip, 8 hours,from Chennai, through Vellore, Ambur, Krishnagiri took left, were it started raining heavily, and we had to get down, to cover our luggage on the roof,
And then through Dharmapuri, Mettur. We stopped at the Mettur bridge a took a glimpse of the Dam and river. We took a few photos.
We had our lunch at Mettur, in a small restaurant, nice Fish food. Then we travelled on, through Ammapettai, Anthiyur right and to Burgur hills.
We reached NMS Church, at Burgur mission field at 4:20 PM, we were welcomed with flowers by the missionary kids, we took a look at the church, we had a small prayer, and went to our rooms.
We stayed at Chellam gardens, a nice place to stay for families, near the NMS church. The owners are from Chintamani, Chennai.
Ramesh anna, arranged the dinner for us. And we took rest the 1st day.
2nd Oct 2015.
We started the day off at NMS Church, at Burgur hills. We gave gifts to the missionary, and the missionary kids.
After having breakfast, we had a list of programs organized.
We had 20-30 Computer class children attend the program. We started of with a prayer, and the kids shared the lessons learned from the Bible, each and every childs recited Bible verses, the children performed a few dance programs, one of the best dance was for the song "Thanjavuru Bomai ".
The kids really entertained us.
It was then followed by the lessons, Jeevitha akka shared with the missionary kids. I shared my testimony, on my life journeys, school, college life, work and family life. and how God has been throughout the journey, and shared a few verses, Ephesians 3:20, Ephesians 2:7.
We had a new pulpit donated by one of the church member. He also shared his testimony of his life, and how he came into Christ. His mixture business.
My Dad prayed for his family and dedicated the church pulpit.
Then we went to visit Believers houses, nearby.
One of the believers had a mixture biz. We went to their place, sang a song, and prayed. He showed us how mixture, corn flakes, and how various snacks were made.
We came back for lunch. In the evening we planned to visit Devar Madam, which is a few kilometres from the Bargur hills. On the way we had to pass through a forest reserve area, where elephants lived. We saw a fresh poo of the elephant. It was long distance, around 22 kms, Atlast we reached the place.
There is no electricity, no water supply, but we praise God for the believers family, we had a time of prayer, sharing the word of God, songs and we returned to our place.
3rd Oct 2015..
We got up, we planned to visit a few believers home, we finished our breakfast in the mission field, and started off to. We had a good time, playing with the small lamb at one of the believers home.
We had a time of prayer. The believer shared his testimony, sang songs, My Dad said a few words
about our missionary Ramesh Naik, for all his efforts over the years.
We thank God for our missionary and all his efforts in and around Bargur hills.
We finished our lunch back at the NMS Church, and headed home.
